Jeremy Bailey, originally from Toronto, is making his Chicago debut with two video works that offer an appealing mixture of magical realism and dry wit. In shanan + brad (2002) we witness an open industrial space where columns quietly rearrange themselves when people aren’t looking. In his video Bye Bye Bye (2001), an automated video camera appears to reluctantly but cleverly follow hand gesture orders given by the sitter to move itself left, right, spin or tilt.
