The collaborative localStyle was founded by visual artist Marlena Novak and composer Jay Alan Yim in 2000. In addition to working collaboratively, both have independent careers. Novak is an accomplished painter and digital artist and Yim is a highly recognized composer whose work has been commissioned and performed by the Chicago Symphony, among many others.
