Ed Moses is an artist's artist. He is revered by his peers. His work is about contradiction: the drawn line versus the loose paint flow, the large visceral canvases versus delicate graphite drawings. Always historically linked, always experimental. His current works reflect the importance of the line with grids layered one on top of the other to create a dense, textile-like image. In juxtaposition to these pieces, he is also painting canvases with bold, uncontrolled gestures of high-intensity color.
